BOWLING GREEN-- Vehtek Systems, Inc. is a Class A automotive stamping plant located in Wood-Bridge Business Park in Bowling Green, Ohio. Vehtek is part of Cosma International and a Tier I supplier for Chrysler, GM, Honda and other automotive manufacturers. In turn, Cosma is an operating unit of Magna International and one of the world's premier automotive body & chassis systems suppliers.
Vehtek started operations in Bowling Green in 2006. The Canadian-based company took over stamping operations from a Japanese firm, Dienamic Solutions, located at 2125 Woodbridge Blvd. In 2008-09, Vehtek added a total of 63,500 sq. ft. in two separate projects to their facility. They also lease additional warehouse space in Woodbridge.
Construction began in early summer for Vehtek’s current project in Bowling Green. Plans involve phased additions totaling 355,000 sq. ft. Employing approximately 161 persons at their BG facility, Vehtek will add another 250 jobs by 2015 to accommodate this expansion.
Coordination with Bowling Green’s Utilities and Public Works Department has been crucial to moving Vehtek’s project forward. The Electric Division is upgrading a 69 kV substation to serve Vehtek’s increased need for power. Public Works with assistance from the State of Ohio is constructing a bridge over Poe Ditch on the north edge of Vehtek’s property to allow for an improved flow of truck traffic. The City and State of Ohio are also planning to upgrade Poe Road from the bridge to the intersection of Poe and Dunbridge Road.
