Community Profile

Located along U.S. 12 in the northeast quadrant of five major highways, Clinton, Michigan, is very accessible by land and air. The five highways include : U.S. 127, 15 minutes west of the Village; U.S. 23, 20 minutes to the east; Interstate 94, 22 minutes to the north; Interstate 80, 50 minutes to the south; and Interstate 69, which is approximately a 1 ¼ hour commute to the west. Within 60 minutes, one can travel to metropolitan areas such as Detroit or Lansing, Michigan; or Toledo, Ohio. Detroit Metropolitan Airport is a 45 minute drive.

We are situated in northeast Lenawee County amidst the area known as the Irish Hills, (due to many Irish immigrants) – an area well-known for our beautiful scenery and historical landmarks. Clinton is a wonderful place to stroll downtown and enjoy the outdoors. Community parks allow for relaxation, gathering, recreation, fishing, etc.

There is much more to Clinton, however. We offer quality municipal utility services including electric, water, and sewer. If any problems occur with your utilities, they can be resolved locally. As municipal utilities, they are governed by you through the elected officials you elect as representatives to the council. You are welcome to attend their open meetings and express any concerns.

Our children attend Clinton Community Schools whose goal it is “to develop individuals who see, understand, and apply information; value themselves and others; and who have the capacity to independently and cooperatively participate in a rapidly changing society.” Several major colleges/universities are an easy commute. Siena Heights University and Adrian College are two outstanding small colleges located just 15 minutes south of the Village in Adrian, Michigan. Within ½ – 1 hours drive, one may choose to attend the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, Eastern Michigan University – Ypsilanti, or the University of Toledo in Ohio. Community colleges are also available. Jackson Community College is 15 minutes to the south in Adrian, while Washtenaw Community College is located 25 minutes to the east in Ann Arbor. Both community colleges have excellent technical programs and offer specialized industrial training and education services.

We invite you to visit our beautiful community and let us show you what Clinton, Michigan has to offer.
