Community Profile

The county seat of Mercer County, Celina, Ohio, is located on State Route 127 (north/south) and State Route 29/U.S. 33 (east/west) along the northwest shores of Grand Lake. Via U.S. 33, north/south Interstate 75 is just a 25 minute commute. Within a three hour driving radius, one can reach such destinations as Toledo, Columbus, and Cincinnati, Ohio; Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and Ann Arbor, Michigan. For those longer commutes, Ft. Wayne International Airport and Dayton International Airport can both be accessed in approximately 1 ¼ hours. In addition, there is a small landing strip at Lakefield Airport, just five miles (seven minutes) south of Celina.

Our city has much to offer right here at home, however. We are committed to working with prospective businesses in obtaining tax abatements and other incentives. Celina Municipal Utilities (water, sewer, and electric) provide quality service at an economical price. As municipally operated systems, you may impact the operations as you elect representatives to the board/council. You may then attend their open meetings to voice any concerns you might have. Whenever an issue arises, it can be resolved locally.

Education is a key ingredient in any decision. The youth of our community attend Celina Public Schools or may choose to attend Immaculate Conception School from Kindergarten thru sixth grade. Tri-Star Career Compact, a consortium of nine local schools, is also available for customized training of high school students and adults. On the north shores of Grand Lake, approximately a five minute drive, one can attend Wright State Lake Campus which offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as workshops for local businesses.

Our community provides multiple leisure opportunities. We have several parks for relaxation and recreation. Grand Lake provides boating, fishing, and other water sports. Fox’s Den Golf Course is located within the City, while Northmoor Golf Course is 5 miles east and the Mercer County Elks Golf Club is 7.5 miles south. Grand Lake Mariners Summer Collegiate baseball team has made a home here and provides great family entertainment. Established in 1988, they are the second oldest member of the league, located in the smallest community in the league.

Celina provides all the amenities necessary for success. Restaurants and shopping are both available locally. We have a quiet, small city atmosphere, and provide our residents with a quality of life that cannot be found everywhere else.

Celina Aluminum Precision Technology (Honda supplier), Crown Equipment Corporation, and Reynolds and Reynolds are just some of the industries who choose to call Celina home. We invite you to visit and see what our City has to offer. You may soon want to call us “home”, too.
