A small village in Wood County, Custar is a 21 minute drive southwest of Bowling Green and 45 minutes from Toledo. Though we are located in a rural area, we have easy access to larger municipalities and metropolitan areas. We are just 15 minutes from Interstate 75, 23 minutes from U.S. 6, and 36 minutes from I-80/90 (Ohio Turnpike). Indianapolis, Indiana; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Youngstown, Ohio, can all be driven in approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes. When air travel is needed, the Toledo Express Airport is a 36 minute commute.

We are proud to own and maintain our municipal electric distribution system. This is an invaluable resource as an electrical problem doesn’t mean long distance phone calls and waiting patiently to talk with someone. Rather, you make a local call and someone will address your concern as quickly as possible.

Youth attend Bowling Green City Schools with two elementary schools located in Custar – one public and one parochial. For those who want to pursue a higher education, Bowling Green State University is a 23 minute commute, while one can travel to the University of Toledo in 49 minutes.
