Community Profile

Adventure to Glouster, on Ohio Routes 13 and 78, and visit our scenic community amidst the Appalachian foothills of southeastern Ohio. We are approximately 1 ½ hours southeast of Columbus and the Port Columbus International Airport, and less than an hour from Parkersburg, West Virginia, and the Ohio River.

Municipal electric and water are one of the community’s treasured assets. These utilities are owned by the community and its citizens who elect representatives to govern their operations. Citizens may then participate in the open meetings of their elected board/council. Being locally operated and maintained means we, your neighbors, are working to provide you with quality, reliable, economical utilities. If you have a question or concern, you have direct access to the people who oversee the operations – no middlemen to go through.

Our children attend Trimble Local Schools, and may choose to further their education right here in Athens County. Both Ohio University’s main campus and Hocking Technical College are located here.

The adventures of Athens County make Glouster an ideal location. Within the county, one can enjoy the arts, historic sites, parks/recreation, and national forests, etc. Burr Oak State Park is located alongside our village. This park offers lodging, camping, boating, hunting/fishing, swimming, winter recreation, trails, etc. Several other interesting adventures can be found at other parks within the county.

Give us a call and we will be glad to give you a tour of the area. We believe you will agree that our beautiful location has much to offer.
