Community Profile

In Wyandot County, at the intersection of OH 103, OH 67, and OH 231, sets the village of Sycamore. U.S. Route 23, to the west, and U.S. Route 30, to the south, are an approximate 20 minute drive. Interstate 75 is a ½ hour commute, while Interstate 71 and the Ohio Turnpike can both be reached in less than an hour. These routes provide excellent transportation to and from larger metropolitan areas. Within a 4 ½ – 5 hour radius of our village, one can travel to such places as Charleston, West Virginia; Louisville, Kentucky; Chicago, Illinois; or London, Ontario. For those longer commutes, air transportation is available at Port Columbus Airport and Toledo Express Airport, both within a 1 ½ hour drive.

Sycamore is proud to offer its own municipal water, wastewater, and electric distribution systems, as well as safety forces. Municipally owned utilities means they are local and you have a direct say in their operations. If there is a problem, the personnel to resolve the situation are local and can be reached within minutes.

Mohawk Local School District provides education to our youth. If they wish to further their education close to home, one may choose to commute to Heidelberg University, Tiffin University, The University of Findlay, Ohio Northern University, or Bowling Green State University, all available within an hour drive.
