We are proud to be a “public power” municipal electric provider. As a municipal utility, we are governed by the people. Our citizens elect representatives to council and may provide input at their open meetings. Power is purchased, but we take responsibility for delivering the service to our citizens through installation and maintenance of the distribution lines. If there is ever a problem with your service, it can be handled locally. We strive to provide quality service at the best economical price, and give back to the community. This also allows us to keep our real estate taxes low.

Education for our youth is attained through the North Star School District. For advanced schooling, Hooversville is less than 25 minutes from the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. Several other colleges are easily accessible as well. Within 1 1/4 hours, we have access to Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Altoona. PA Highlands Community College, Somerset, PA is 20 minutes away, as well as Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood, PA.

For some leisure entertainment, many enjoy the short commute to Arnold Palmer’s first golf course design – Indian Lake Golf Club. This 18 hole course provides an enjoyable challenge for any golfer. Hooversville is a quiet community, set back from the “hustle and bustle” of the metropolitan areas. However, there is a lot to offer here. And when there is a necessary service not provided in our town, we have quick access to those larger cities via the area thoroughfares,

Come see Hooversville for yourself. We believe you just might find a community you would like to call home for you and your business.
