Community Profile

Old traditions and progressive spirit make Quakertown an ideal place to locate. Interstate 476 is just an eight minute commute, while Interstate 78 can be accessed in fifteen minutes. These thoroughfares make the metropolitan areas of Philadelphia, Scranton, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; New York City, New York; and Trenton, New Jersey, accessible in less than two hours. While the Quakertown Airport accepts charter flights, the Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown can be reached in less than 30 minutes, and the Philadelphia International Airport in approximately one hour.

Our borough takes pride in our municipal utilities which include electric, water, and sewer. As your local utilities, we strive to provide quality, reliable service at an economical price. Any concern one may have with these services is handled locally.

Students attend Quakertown Community Schools or may choose a private or parochial school through grade 8. Upon graduation, one may opt to further their education close to home. DeSales University, Bucks County Community College, and Penn State Lehigh Valley can all be driven to within 15 minutes.

In addition to a great location, quality utilities, and educational opportunities, a community must offer entertainment and recreational opportunities. Quakertown does just that! Amongst our park and recreational system, we provide pavilions, basketball and tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, jogging path, bike path, skate park, skating pond, playground, street hockey, and a swimming pool. Concerts are also held in Memorial Park.

Quakertown is a charming community which truly cherishes its rich history and blends it with the present day. Many firms such as Associated Rubber (customer molded rubber products), Fabric Development, Insaco (high precision machining of hard materials), Kwik Goal (soccer supplies and other sports), Lawrence Schiff Silk Mills (earth friendly ribbon), Universal Fabric Structures, and Wilsey Tool Company have realized the benefits of locating in our community. Let us show you what we have to offer you.
